World Wide Web Foundation - Global Campaigns Manager
At a critical moment for the future of the net, an exciting new coalition of leading digital rights group – the Web We Want campaign – is seeking a senior campaigner with extensive international experience to coordinate a global push for the right communicate online by supporting, connecting and amplifying local struggles.
An outstanding leader and strategist, you will drive progress through effective coalition building; incisive political analysis; and strong planning and project management skills. You will work closely with a global advisory committee composed of leading digital rights organisations from around the world, maximising individual contributions to achieve our ambitious goals. Package starting from USD$70k per year including benefits.
This role is suited to a experienced campaigner. In particular the role needs strong project management and organising skills. Experience in working with international coalitions is preferred.
It will be a very exciting campaign to work on. Next year is the 25th anniversary of the World Wide Web and the campaign's focus is to ensure that web retains the the free, open and accessible principles it was built, into the future.
Even before Web We Want has launched it has already played a key role in the response to the PRISM surveillance revelations, and has just launched a small grants program to support national and regional campaigns.
