FSF40 travel information

by Free Software Foundation Contributions Published on Aug 25, 2025 09:52 AM

FSF40 will be held at the Wentworth Institute of Technology (WIT) located at 550 Huntington Ave, Boston, MA 02115. We will be in the CEIS lobby (across from Watson Hall and opposite the West Lot).

The closest MBTA stop is the Museum of Fine Arts stop on the Green Line E branch (approximately a six-minute walk to the WIT). Another option is to take the orange line to Ruggles (approximately a nine-minute walk to the WIT). If you are driving (or taking a ride-share), you may park in the WIT West Lot free of charge.

Transportation

The easiest way to get around Boston/Cambridge is to use the MBTA. Passes can be purchased with cash or credit/debit cards in stations. You're welcome to use the libreplanet-discuss mailing list for planning ride-shares and the like.

Arriving in the city from the Boston Logan International Airport

Most people travel via use one of the below three routes to get from the airport:

  • Cabs, which are located throughout the Boston, as well as at the airport and major subway stations;
  • The Blue Line (a train) with a shuttle bus from Boston Logan International Airport to the Airport MBTA stop;
  • Or the Silver Line, which is an expedited bus.

The MBTA provides a very helpful page on navigating via the Silver Line and Blue line from the airport.
