Community meetup: Software Freedom Day

by Free Software Foundation Contributions Published on Jun 10, 2025 04:27 PM
A group of us from the US will be getting together and discussing how to get local groups started in our local areas.
When Jun 28, 2025

from 11:00 AM to 01:00 PM
Where Online

The time listed on this event page is in local time (EDT).

Our first goal is to get more participants involved in a local Software Freedom Day event to help get the word out about Free Software to people in our areas. The second goal is to discuss Free Software in general and introduce each other to our favorite FOSS applications. A third goal, for those of us who program or would like to learn, is to have the opportunity to share information about building FOSS C/C++ programs from source code and how to successfully modify and customize Free programs to fit personal needs.

Organized by: BSFG and DFF (Contact me via the #SoftwareFreedomDay channel on Matrix or @dff@fosstodon.org on Mastodon if you have any questions or want to RSVP in advance).

RSVP not required to attend.

Please note that the information on this event page is the information we received from the organizer, and may be outdated. For the most up-to-date information, please visit the LibrePlanet wiki or check in with the organizer to confirm the exact time and location. On the LibrePlanet wiki , you will also find more community meetups celebrating forty years of software freedom.

This event is organized by a volunteer. The FSF is delighted that so many dedicated free software activists have volunteered to organize a community meetup. The FSF hopes that these gatherings will be a great place for the free software community to meet up and wants to help make these events a success, but cannot be held accountable for volunteer-organized events.
