You can help our campaign by buying AMD or VIA CPU chips and not buying
Intel. AMD and VIA have been helpful but Intel needs to be persuaded. Likewise, buy motherboards that support free BIOS. Silicon Mechanics ship a few server models with coreboot pre-installed.
How you can help
- Get involved with the coreboot project.
- Purchase Motherboards that support coreboot. You might also find the list of some of the full system configurations that we use at the FSF helpful.
- Make statements about what you are doing in support of a Free BIOS.
- Send e-mail to Intel, asking them to cooperate with a fully free BIOS. Also send them a snail mail letter at:
Intel Corporation
2200 Mission College Blvd.
Santa Clara, CA 95052
USA
Tell us what steps you have taken, too--please write to <bios@gnu.org> to tell us that you have chosen what to buy because it supports a free BIOS.
