RMS was in the International Conference Hall of National Tsing Hua University's Learning Resources Center, in Hsinchu City, Taiwan, where several hundred people came to hear him deliver his speech "A Free Digital Society," on May 9th, 2014.

On June 13th, 2013, RMS was at the Museo Arocena, in Torreón, Mexico, to give a speech hosted by the GULAG (the La Laguna GNU/Linux User Group) for their seventh Free Software Conference, to students, professors, and the general public.
