FSD meeting recap 2025-11-14

by Craig Topham Contributions Published on Nov 17, 2025 04:24 PM
Check out the important work our volunteers accomplished at Friday's Free Software Directory (FSD) IRC meeting.

Every week, free software activists from around the world come together in #fsf on Libera.Chat to help improve the FSD, which is a catalog of useful free software that runs under free GNU-like systems (not limited to the GNU operating system and its GNU/Linux variants) and a project of the Free Software Foundation (FSF). This recaps the work we accomplished at the Friday, November 14 2025 meeting, where we saw a couple of new programs added and several entries updated.

Thank you volunteers

Each week, we like to thank the IRC volunteers who worked on the Directory during the meeting.

A special thanks to:

  • nnq and hwpplayer1 for working and reviewing entries this week.

New programs approved with licensing check:

  • Rayhunter is a project for detecting IMSI catchers, also known as cell-site simulators or stingrays.
  • KiCAD-EasyEDA-Parts is a KiCAD Plugin to download footprints, symbols and 3D models from EasyEDA and convert them for KiCAD.
  • KiCAD-JLCPCB-tool is a plugin to generate all files necessary for JLCPCB board fabrication and assembly
  • ReplicateLayout is a plugin that replicates the PCB layout of one hierarchical sheet to other hierarchical sheets.
  • Easyeda2kicad is a Python script that convert any electronic components from LCSC or EasyEDA to a Kicad library.

Programs with version bumps or minor edits:

  • Libxml2 is the XML C parser and toolkit developed for the Gnome project, but it can be used outside of GNOME.

Join us each week on Friday to help improve the FSD in #fsf on Libera.Chat from 12:00 to 15:00 EST (17:00 to 20:00 UTC). Find out more about upcoming FSD IRC meetings by subscribing to our events RSS feed.
