Call for volunteers: Help us with the GNU Press shop and new member mailings

by Free Software Foundation Contributions Published on Aug 06, 2024 12:49 PM

We had a successful fundraiser and are so grateful for all the new members who signed up and for the support from our donors. Now, we would like to further express our appreciation with a thank you letter and their fundraiser premium. In addition, people around the world are waiting to receive their GNU Press shop orders. There's a lot to do before our office closes at the end of the month, and we need a little help sending everything out. Would you be willing to support the FSF's work while chatting and enjoying snacks with other free software supporters?

What: Packing and labeling fundraiser premiums and GNU Press shop orders.

Where: The FSF office, 51 Franklin Street, Fifth floor, Boston, 02110. The closest MBTA station is Downtown Crossing (if you will be arriving via other methods, we recommend consulting our How to get to the FSF office in Downtown Boston page).

When: Thursday August 8th, 13:00-18:00 EDT & Tuesday August 13th, 13:00-17:00 EDT

Why: Volunteering is an excellent way to directly support the FSF's work, have a great time meeting other free software enthusiasts, and swap stories. If you volunteer, you might make some friends -- and you will certainly make some memories. We will provide gratis snacks and drinks.

If you can help, please reply to this email and let us know what time(s) you'd like to volunteer, as well as if you have any dietary restrictions. Want to help, but these dates don't work for you? Email us what days work best for you, and we will find a time for you to help.

Even if you are only able to volunteer for an hour, we are incredibly appreciative of your kindness and support.

We're looking forward to welcoming you at the FSF's office!
