GNOME is the glue that ties some of the best free software applications together. Providing users of free operating systems with an easy-to-understand interface, GNOME makes even the most novice of users' computing experience productive and pleasing.
GNOME is available for a variety of free operating systems, such as GNU/Linux and FreeBSD. While there are many window mangers and Desktop Environments to choose from, GNOME has become the de facto standard for hundreds of GNU/Linux distributions, including with Free Software Foundation recommended Trisquel and gNewSense.
