Recently, in free software news, Richard Stallman protested representatives of the European Patent Office giving a presentation in Australia concerning software patents. Trisquel released their newest LTS version, codename: Taranis. The chief architect of Apple's compiler group answered a question about the upstream potential of their work on the GNU Compiler Collection.

On Thursday, December 14th, the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is voting on whether to gut net neutrality. They call the proposed changes "Restoring Internet Freedom," but we think it is "Revoking Internet Freedom."

Many projects and the Free Software Foundation (FSF) itself have made leaps in creating more diverse and inclusive spaces over the past few years. I'm excited to celebrate International Women's Day by writing just a few of the many amazing women around the world who use their professional and personal time to drive freedom in technology.
