Blog Entry GNU contributor statistics for November 2010

As part of an article for the forthcoming FSF bulletin, I gathered a large sample of the more recent copyright assignments for GNU contributors and broke them down by country. The sample shows sixty-six countries represented; and while the number of contributors from China and India are relatively small, the proportions are rapidly shifting.

PersonalWeb's software patent suit against Github and others threatens the freedom of the Web. In order to make sure that the Web can remain a free and accessible space for everyone, we need to rid ourselves of all the patents that threaten its viability. We need to end software patents.
