We are seeking to recruit a Perl Developer to step in to a role with real influence, and be part of a team working on some great high profile and successful brands.

Webfusion Ltd. is a leading UK web hosting Company. We’re based in Stockley Park, a leafy business park in between Uxbridge and Heathrow (but well off the flight path, so there’s no smell of jet fuel). There are plenty of onsite amenities and places to go for lunch. 


As a Perl Developer you will be responsible for researching, developing, maintaining and supporting internal and product related systems.
Core Functions 


Specific responsibilities for this post include:

  • Ensure software under development is managed with appropriate source code control and release processes
  • Ensure software adheres to relevant coding standards and is documented using internal systems
  • Interact with the product managers to gather requirements, deploy and when relevant support our systems
  • Work with Hosting Operations when researching & designing new products as well as offering support to ensure relevant SLA’s are met

 

Technical / Person Specification:
The successful applicant is likely to have the following experience and knowledge:

  • A minimum of three years’ experience developing applications using Perl as a primary job role in a commercial environment
  • Above average knowledge of relational databases and db design (particularly MySQL)
  • Experience of object oriented design and development using Perl
  • Experience of creating unit tests
  • Training in GNU/Linux-related tools & technologies

 

As the Perl Developer, you will also need to have a punctual and professional approach, good communication skills, be able to manage competing deadlines and priorities, and be experienced at working in a team environment.
