Do you have a proven track record of building innovative web sites with Drupal? Do you want to use your technology skills to make the world a better place?

Santa Clara University’s Center for Science, Technology, and Society is developing the Social Enterprise Innovation Network, an online innovation, collaboration, learning, and networking workspace that enables social entrepreneurial ventures to scale their reach and impact.

We are in beta release to select global partners and need an A-Player in technology, people skills, and desire to accomplish a social mission to work with our small team of seasoned social entrepreneurs to take the site to public launch and beyond.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

You will be the technical lead for the site, with responsibilities including architecting and developing new technologies and features.

The candidate must have broad knowledge of web development technologies and be well-versed in software development processes. The ideal candidate must be highly experienced and knowledgeable in Drupal, PHP, Javascript, CSS, and HTML.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Active Drupal developer, 2+ years of recent experience.
  • Intimate knowledge of PHP 5, 4+ years of experience.
  • Deep knowledge of MySQL 5, 4+ years experience.
  • Expertise with CSS, HTML, and Javascript in a cross browser environment.
  • Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills.
  • Methodical in documenting and testing code.
  • Ability to work in both front-end and back-end development.
  • Experience with GNU/Linux server administrative tasks.
  • Experience working with product managers and other team members to develop specifications for new features.
  • At least 4 years of industry experience working in small, fast-paced teams.
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • High energy, self-motivated, detail-oriented, results-oriented, team player, independent learner, and effective communicator.
  • POSITION:

  • Full-time
  • Contract with potential for long-term hire (excellent benefits package)
  • Must be available to work on-site in Santa Clara two days or more per week as required.
