We are looking for an impassioned Software Engineer to join our growing company.

FlipKey is looking for an impassioned Software Engineer to join our growing company. You will be a contributing member of a small engineering team and help the group through all development phases, including architecture, coding, and implementation.

About FlipKey:

FlipKey is majority owned by TripAdvisor, and provides a trusted resource to help consumers find vacation rental accommodations online. Unlike hotels, it is very difficult for consumers to locate and book a vacation home confidently. FlipKey is tackling this problem through collaborative social inputs, back-end booking mechanisms, and additional tactics we simply refer to as “special sauce”. Our offices are located in downtown Boston.

Types of projects you will be working on:

Application Development in Python (or other)

Integrating with WSDL (and other) data feeds

Database and data management

Co-ordination efforts with partners, developers, and outside contractors

Backend Support for Web Development on a LAMP (GNU/Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP/Python/Perl) stack

Some of the suggested skills we are looking for:

Object-Oriented programming language experience across multiple languages

Very comfortable in GNU/Linux, Unix, *BSD

Strong understanding of MySQL (or general database optimization)

SOAP experience

Proficient with XML
