Seeking someone who can work with our architects and rest of the engineering team to continuously improve our infrastructure by adding features that are extensible, maintainable, and support the needs of our applications.

CollabNet is developing next generation development tools for the world’s largest enterprises and online communities. Millions of people use Subversion and the CollabNet Platform™, and are waiting to see what we come up with next.

The next generation CollabNet Platform (based on SourceForge Enterprise Edition) will redefine collaborative software development as we know it. We are looking for a seasoned infrastructure / server engineer to play a huge part in this effort.

The ideal candidate is someone who can work with our architects and rest of the engineering team to continuously improve our infrastructure by adding features that are extensible, maintainable, and support the needs of our applications.

If you have a passion for applying a variety of contemporary technologies in the implementation of complex, scalable, highly-integrated, well-packaged, widely-deployed, world-class applications, this might be the job for you.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive the agile adoption of new platform layer technologies and approaches, often demonstrating and championing their use
  • Work with the product owner, architects, and other engineers to analyze, estimate, and validate requested infrastructure features
  • Work with the project manager to decompose high-level requirements into the epics, users stories, and tasks necessary for implementation
  • Implement infrastructure and other server-based user stories, depending on the needs of the platform layer and other critical product initiatives
  • Work with the product owner and architects to gather and make course corrections based on frequent user acceptance testing
  • Play a key part in the on-line community, helping to answer user questions, writing the occasional blog entry, and building an on-line personae

    • REQUIRED:

  • 6-8 years experience with Java and J2EE technologies: Java servlets, EJB/Hibernate, Struts, JDBC, XML/XSD, and SOAP-based Web services
  • 2-4 years experience with modern Unix, network, integration, and Web technologies: Bash, Python, TCP/IP Sockets, Apache, Tomcat, etc.
  • 2-4 years experience mastering a Unix-based OS (Linux, Solaris, etc.)
  • 2-4 years of experience mastering an RDBMS (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.)
  • 2-4 years of experience with unit testing tools (JUnit, JWebUnit, etc.)
  • 1-3 years of experience integrating applications and tools (e.g. SCM)
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment, with dynamic customer-driven requirements and market-driven schedules
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (both online and offline)
  • Bachelor's degree (CS, EE, or Math preferred) or equivalent experience
