Job Description:
The VP of Engineering / Product Development / CTO is responsible for the strategic and tactical aspects of the Shape Up The Nation health social-networking platform. This person will provide the leadership and management necessary to ensure that the company has the proper resources to continue to develop a world class product. As a core member of the senior management team this role is critical to the growth and development of Shape Up The Nation.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop, review and maintain product roadmap with CEO, founders and VP of Engineering
Solicit and manage product development ideas from staff and customers
Answer high-level technology questions for potential clients during the sales and implementation process
Oversee final code review and testing process
Develop relationships with third-party content and service providers
Product development budget responsibility
Set goals with VP of Engineering and review progress regularly
Set goals for programming and web design staff and review regularly
Build and develop product development team
Oversee security assessment and testing with VP of Engineering

Qualifications:
Web programming (Ruby, Python, or PHP) and database development (MySQL) experience
Intuitive understanding of user interface design and web user needs
Proven track record of defining, developing and implementing effective product development plans
Proven ability to effectively allocate resources, with budget and time constraints
