Candidates must already reside in BC and not require employment sponsorship. Telecommuters and off-shoring operations are not a consideration.
Required skills:
Technical Requirements:
Open-source web development experience (PHP/Perl/Python)
Experience using and/or developing MVC frameworks (Django, Zend, etc.)
Strong familiarity with templating systems (Smarty, Template Toolkit, HTML Template, etc)
Experience creating and managing relational databases (eg. PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc)
Significant JavaScript experience, particularly involving one or more of the common AJAX development frameworks (jQuery, Dojo, Prototype, MooTools, etc)
Experience in developing or maintaining scalable and reliable web based systems.
Comfortable with replication in a multi-server environment
Comfortable with designing databases and websites in order to maximize performance in a high volume environment
Standards-compliant HTML/CSS development experience
Source code control systems (Subversion, Git, Mercurial, darcs, etc)
Development on a GNU/Linux platform
Strong oral and written communication skills

Sys Admin experience and willingness to back-up our Principal Sys Admin when he is on vacation
