Web Developer, (Chicago, IL)
Job Summary:
The Web Developer will develop and maintain interactive web services for external and internal users. This position will support the Chicago Public Radio's website management system, and work closely with external partners for site upgrades/changes, maintenance and the development of new web products and services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Education Required:
Computer Science degree or equivalent training.
Experience/Skill Required:
5 years web development experience in PHP and MySQL platforms. Thorough understanding of the Drupal website management system is required in addition to strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, XML, JavaScript, AJAX, and JQuery. Knowledge of web standards, and cross-browser development is required. Demonstrated ability to leverage free software tools and solutions. This position requires the ability to manage several projects under multiple deadlines, the ability to work both independently and with external consultants. Clear and concise communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non technical people. This is not a graphic design position, but the ideal candidate will be familiar with preparing graphics for delivery on the web.
