Junior Perl Web Developer, (Rye Brook, NY)

Required skills:

  • Preferred fluency in Perl (including Perl objects); would consider some exposure to Perl combined with fluency in other languages in lieu of full Perl fluency.
  • Some experience with SQL.
  • Familiarity with regular expressions.
  • Familiarity with writing web applications running under the Apache webserver.
  • Some experience with Javascript/AJAX.
  • Basic GNU/Linux command line skills, including file manipulation, file editors, grep, etc.
  • Ability to read, understand, and debug other programmers' code.
  • Code documentation skills.
  • Desired skills:

  • GNU/Linux admin skills.
  • Experience with Subversion or other source control.
  • Experience configuring Apache and writing Apache modules.
  • Basic graphic/image manipulation skills.
  • Experience using Perl templating systems such as HTML::Template or Template::Toolkit.
  • Experience with MySQL configuration.
  • Knowledge/understanding of the financial/trading world.
