The School of Advanced Study at the University of London seeks a Perl and JavaScript Developer to take part in the JISC-sponsored DIVRE/PhilPapers 2.0 Project (www.divre.org, www.philpapers.org).

The School of Advanced Study at the University of London seeks a Perl and JavaScript Developer to take part in the JISC-sponsored DIVRE / PhilPapers 2.0 Project. You will work with a small team on a cutting-edge, high-impact free software project.

You will be involved in the design, development, and maintenance of a range of innovative services for PhilPapers/ DIVRE using primarily Perl, JavaScript and SQL, as well as the day-to-day operation of PhilPapers.

Required skills:

Significant experience in Perl and JavaScript development or equivalent is essential. Experience with CGI and SQL development in a GNU/Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP context is highly desirable. So is experience with document parsing and indexing tasks, as well as metadata technologies. You must have a degree in computer science / software engineering or equivalent experience.

You will be an organised, conscientious and methodical individual with willingness to learn and the ability to work effectively in a team.
