We are looking for high caliber Senior Engineers to help build new products/systems on PHP/MySQL.

PlaySpan is looking for high caliber Senior Engineers to help build new products/systems on PHP/MySQL. Candidate will serve as a senior member of the team and will have significant contributions in design/architecture of the new products.

Your responsibilities:

Design/Build/Architect consumer facing online property that brings in the best of web 2.0 features.

Provide technical direction with a hands on approach for the design, development, and systems integration.

Own the development lifecycle, consistently deliver high-quality output on time and manage technical risks throughout the project.

Conceptualize and implements effective solutions, applying industry trends/developments to improve user experience.

Support implementation of hard/tricky technical solutions.

Perform code reviews and mentor junior developers and communicate/enforce coding practices/standards.

Identify opportunities for improvement, easily recognize system deficiencies and implement effective solutions that enhances user experience.

Your Qualifications:

5+ years of building web applications using GNU/Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP.

Possess significant knowledge in building web systems that leverage content from various REST/SOAP style web services.

Experience in building products/solutions in PHP and clearly demonstrate expert level knowledge in PHP/MySQL.

Experience in building web application using free software technologies (Zend, Smarty MVC framework...).

Strong background in performance tuning and scaling a typical database driven transactional system.

Experience in working with Drupal and designing modules on Drupal platform.

Desirable: Prior experience integrating with Payment Systems (PayPal, Amazon, Credit Card...).

This position is at our PlaySpan Santa Clara office, which is located South bay (Lawrence Expwy and 101) and convenient access to major highways.
