We are looking for an experienced Perl developer to join our Backend team and contribute to projects that are fundamental to the continuing growth of the business. Reporting to the Backend Team Lead, successful candidates will be passionate, competent and diligent programmers who are used to delivering successful projects.

Essential Skills:

Able to produce high-quality web applications.

Able to develop web-based user interfaces (HTML, CSS) & APIs (JSON & XML).

Knowledge of CPAN modules and frameworks.

Experience building and testing high-availability applications.

A good understanding of Perl & GNU/Linux conventions, Perl testing frameworks, Refactoring, SQL (ideally Postgres / MySQL), Version Control Systems (SVN, SVK, Git etc), Apache/FCGI & mod_perl.

Believes in common code ownership.

Exposure to, AJAX & Javascript, & JS frameworks (jQuery, YUI), Agile development methodologies, Message queues (ideally ActiveMQ).
