We are looking for an enthusiastic, results-oriented Sr. Software Developer with substantial experience in technical project management and as a team leader, a web designer who is passionate about functional and appealing graphical user interface design, and a technology-obsessed Software Developer.

Sr. Software Developer / Teamlead

We are looking for an enthusiastic, results-oriented Sr. Software Developer with substantial experience in technical project management and as a team leader. However, the tasks of the Sr. Software Developer will also comprise a significant amount of "hands on" advanced web programming and GNU/Linux system administration.

Required skills and competencies:

  • Project management: Proven track record as a technical project-manager in fast paced web-development environment with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Team-Lead: Excellent social skills as a team-leader.
  • Object oriented programming: In-depth knowledge of object-oriented programming, ideally Perl.
  • Programming Languages: Excellent working knowledge of an object-oriented programming language and experience with at least another language. Said languages should include one of Perl, Python and Ruby.
  • Databases: In-depth knowledge of SQL, database design and administration.
  • GNU/Linux: Familiarity with the use of a GNU/Linux system as a development platform and with the use and integration of free software.
  • Web: Knowledge of web technologies: web servers, HTTP, HTML, CSS, XML, DNS, CGI, networking.
  • Programming / Web: Experience in the development of dynamic web sites.
  • System Administration: Experience in the administration of a GNU/Linux system, preferably with a Debian or Ubuntu distro.

    Web Designer

    Passionate about functional and appealing graphical user interface design, the Web-Designer will create graphics and user interfaces for a wide range of online properties and services. This position has substantial development potential.

    Required skills and competencies:

  • Design: Excellent working practice with Gimp or similar programs, proven track record of independent design work.
  • Client-side: Excellent knowledge of HTML, CSS; knowledge of Javascript, and AJAX a plus.
  • Server-side: knowledge of PHP, Perl, SQL a plus.
  • Search Engine Optimisation: basic understanding required.
  • Site Management: Proven track record a strong plus.
  • Web analysis: confidence with concepts, language (e.g. page impressions, unique users, referrer, etc.) and tools (e.g. Google Analytics)
  • Online Marketing: knowledge of web marketing KPIs (CPC, CPM, CPA, CPL etc.), marketing programmes (AdWords, Panama) and affiliation programmes (TradeDoubler, Zanox, Affilinet, etc.) a strong plus.
