Experienced Perl Developer, (Washington, D.C.)
Liquidity Services, Inc. is looking for an experienced developer to
join our team. Applicant will be working independently or as part of a
team on various projects, and take care of all aspects of the software
development life cycle from specification gathering, design, business
process analysis, and implementation, to quality assurance,
documentation, and ongoing support & maintenance. We primarily use
Perl, MySQL, Apache, and GNU/Linux. Candidate must be a United States
citizen or permanent resident, and be able to commute to our office in
downtown Washington DC.
Liquidity Services, Inc. provides online surplus asset disposition
marketplaces via a public auction format, and pay per click services
through four subsidiaries: Liquidation.com, a b2b marketplace for
private buyers and sellers; GovLiquidation.com, Department of Defense US
military surplus; UKSurplus.com, Ministry of Defense military surplus;
GoWholesale.com, a b2b wholesale PPC search portal.

Required skills:
- Perl, RDBMS (MySQL preferred), DBI module, CGI scripting
- Understanding of software development best practices -- Modules, Don't Repeat Yourself, Maintainable code, etc
- Ability to write scalable, high performance code, with efficient utilization of server resources
- Strong communication skills
- Experience working in a team environment
- mod_perl

- Javascript, Ajax, jQuery
- Core/CPAN modules: Template Toolkit, DBIx::Class, List::Util, List::MoreUtils, DateTime, etc
