About Us:
Inside Lacrosse, a property of American City Business Journals is the nation’s largest lacrosse media company, based out of Baltimore, MD, its properties include: InsideLacrosse.com, NLLInsider.com, LacrosseForums.com, multiple ESPN televised events and an award winning monthly magazine. We strive to create graphically striking and standards compliant websites using a variety of free software technologies and API's. Our team is fun, fresh and most importantly very passionate about our projects. We work directly with and craft exciting interactive sites and applications for some of the biggest names in sports apparel such as Reebok, Nike and Under Armour. Our brand is constantly expanding and needs passionate and talented staff to continue our growth.

About The Position:
This is a special, lead role for a highly motivated, creative, and technologically passionate contributor with significant real-world experience. You never say "it cannot be done" but instead provide solutions to everyday development issues - big and small. You enjoy working in a small team with a full-time front end-developer, user-experience director and various freelance talent. You are not someone who lives off tight deadlines and nocturnal coding sprints but instead thrive under traditional business hours and a healthy dose of teamwork. This position will work directly with the publisher and user experience director, requires the ability to plan, develop and implement projects and most importantly understands how to deliver quality working applications to the end-user. This position will have direct influence over technology implemented and development timelines and priorities.

This position is full-time and provides competitive salary and benefits.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of programming development experience
• Object-oriented design and patterns
• Object-oriented PHP
• Unit testing
• Experience with one other dynamic language, preferably Ruby
• MySQL programming and administration
• Familiarity with MVC frameworks
• Advanced familiarity with ORM and related design patterns and frameworks.
• Experience with version control technologies (Subversion/git)
• Solid grasp of front end technologies (DOM/DHTML/JS/AJAX/JQuery/Prototype)
• Advanced understanding of the GNU/Linux OS and the entire GNU/Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP stack, and how to tune/configure and administer it for multiple high-traffic websites/web-applications (clustered).
• Advanced understanding of networking, firewalls, and configuring hardware and the GNU/Linux OS to run securely within this environment.
• Advanced understanding of patching, upgrading, and administering GNU/Linux.
• Configuration of web servers (Apache/nginx)
• Clustering and scalability design
• Familiarity with Drupal
• Advanced familiarity with application tuning techniques including caching techniques.
• Familiarity with emerging computing innovations, and how to practically apply them to everyday initiatives.
