Briar is hiring an Android developer, a Java developer, and an user experience designer.

Thanks to support from the Open Technology Fund, the Briar project is hiring two developers and a user experience designer to take the project from its current beta state to a 1.0 release. Please spread the word and help us find great people to fill these exciting roles!

Android developer

December 2015 - May 2016, full-time or part-time

Essential skills:

  • Experienced Android developer
  • Material Design experience
  • Familiar with git
  • Good communicator
  • Used to working in a lean/agile team
  • Experience of remote working

Desirable skills:

  • Mobile security
  • Networking and Bluetooth

Java developer

December 2015 - May 2016, full-time or part-time

Essential skills:

  • Experienced Java developer
  • Strong concurrent programming skills
  • Test-driven development experience
  • Familiar with git
  • Good communicator
  • Used to working in a lean/agile team
  • Experience of remote working

Desirable skills:

  • SQL and JDBC
  • Network protocols and cryptography

User experience designer

February - May 2016, full-time

Essential skills:

  • Experienced mobile UX designer
  • Usability testing experience
  • Material Design experience
  • Good communicator
  • Used to working in a lean/agile team
  • Experience of remote working

Desirable skills:

  • Mobile security
  • Social/messaging apps
  • Agile product owner

All roles will involve working remotely with a team based in the GMT timezone.
