Opinions Published: GPLv3 and LGPLv3 Drafts Open for Comments

by John Sullivan Contributions Published on Aug 03, 2006 04:34 PM

Today, we published opinions written to supplement the rationale document which was released with the second draft of GPLv3. The documents provide clarification on some of the changes in the second draft. They address the following topics:

  • BitTorrent Propagation
  • Digital Restrictions Management
  • Additional Terms
  • Denationalization of Terminology
  • Patent Retaliation
  • Covenant Not to Assert Patent Claims

Also, we should mention that the comment system is now open. We would like to encourage you to read the opinions and submit comments regarding the new drafts of the GPL and the LGPL.
