Richard Stallman will be speaking at the Franklin Pierce Law Center, 2 White Street, Concord, NH, 03301 in the Rich Room. This event is free and open to the public, but registration is required. The times below are for the larger event, "Current Developments in the Open Source and Free Software Movements". Stallman will be speaking in the morning, from 10:00am to 11:15am. Stallman describes his speech as, "People often ask whether the ideals of the Free Software Movement apply to anything other than software. In this talk I will explain how I have extended them to additional kinds of works, and where I think they do not extend."

Richard Stallman will speak at the University of Calgary, 2500 University Dr. N.W., Science Theatre ST140, Calgary, Alberta, T2N 1N4, Canada. Admission is $20.00, or free for CUUG (Calgary Unix Users Group) members. Admission is free for students and for people who cannot afford the fee. Doors open at 18:30.

2005-07-21 | El Software Libre y el Sistema Operativo GNU/Linux (Free Software and the GNU/Linux Operating System)

As part of nation-wide Venezuelan event to promote the benefits of the GNU/Linux OS and software freedoms, Richard Stallman will be giving a speech in Spanish entitled "El Software Libre y el Sistema Operativo GNU/Linux" ("Free Software and the GNU/Linux Operating System") at the Primer COngreso Nacional de Software Libre. The Stallman portion of the conference is free. The rest of the event costs approximately $10 USD for students and $35 USD for all others, registration required. Sponsored by the Universidad de los Andes, ESLARED WALC 2005 is an annual IT professionals conference in Mérida, Venezuela. The event takes place from July 25-29, 2005. Richard Stallman will be giving a speech at the conference entitled "Free Software in the Age of Networks" on July 25, 2005, from 11:30am to 12:30pm. The speech will be given in Spanish, and registrants of this ESLARED WALC conference are able to attend.

2005-07-29 | El Software Libre y el Sistema Operativo GNU/Linux

On the last leg of his Venezuelan journey, Richard Stallman will be speaking in Caracas about "El Software Libre y el Sistema Operativo GNU/Linux" ("Free Software and the GNU/Linux Operating System"). The speech, given in Spanish, will be for the Primer Congreso Nacional de Sofware Libre, a nation-wide Venezuelan event to promote the power and benefits of Free Software. Registration is required, and the cost is approximately $9 USD/students, $23 USD/professionals.

2005-08-07 | Copyright vs. Community

Richard Stallman will be speaking on "Copyright vs. Community" at the first international Wikimedia Conference (Wikimania 2005) in Frankfurt, Germany. The public is welcomed to attend, but registration is required on the Wikimania website. The three-day conference pass is 50 Euros and a one-day pass is 20 Euros. There is no special charge for the Stallman speech. The speech will be in English with simulataneous translations into Spanish and Italian.

Richard will be speaking at the School of Law at Boston University regarding the copyleft and copyright movements. BU Law School: 765 Commonwealth Avenue Boston, MA The above address is actually a plaza in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Walk through the Plaza (toward the river), going through the archways and down a few steps: the very tall building to the left is the Law Tower, and the law school auditorium is in the attached short building next to it. By MBTA (the "T" subway system): Take the "B" Green Line (towards Boston College) to the BU Central T stop. This lets you off immediately in front of the MLK Jr. Plaza.
