Richard will be speaking at the School of Law at Boston University regarding the copyleft and copyright movements. BU Law School: 765 Commonwealth Avenue Boston, MA The above address is actually a plaza in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Walk through the Plaza (toward the river), going through the archways and down a few steps: the very tall building to the left is the Law Tower, and the law school auditorium is in the attached short building next to it. By MBTA (the "T" subway system): Take the "B" Green Line (towards Boston College) to the BU Central T stop. This lets you off immediately in front of the MLK Jr. Plaza.

The GNU Operating System (sometimes mistakenly called Linux) was developed so people can use computers and keep their freedom. This nontechnical talk explains the ethical and social issues of free software. This event is being hosted by Gnubies and LXNY. There is no charge and it is open to the public. The ending time here is a guess. Subway: Eighth Street stop on the N, R, sometimes W, lines; Astor Place on the 6 line; Third Avenue on the crosstown L line; Lower EastSide-Second Avenue-Houston Street on the F, V lines. Note that some of these lines may not be running right.

2006-01-16 | GPLv3 Launch at MIT

The first draft of version 3 of the GPL will be released at MIT. There will be speakers and panels to discuss the changes, including Richard Stallman, Eben Moglen, and Peter Brown. The event is open to the public, but please register in advance at the address below.
