The LibrePlanet 2014 Free Software Directory sprint and IRC meeting!

by Joshua Gay Contributions Published on Mar 19, 2014 06:40 PM
Join us this Saturday for a very special FSD sprint.

This Saturday, March 22, 2014, kicks off LibrePlanet 2014! Whether you are with us in Cambridge, MA, or you are working remote in Antarctica, I hope you will join us for the Free Software Directory sprint from 13:50 to 16:05 EDT (17:50-20:05 GMT). Help us improve the Free Software Directory by adding new entries and updating existing ones. We will be on IRC in the #fsf channel on freenode.

Tens of thousands of people visit each month to discover free software. Each entry in the Directory contains a wealth of useful information, from basic category and descriptions, to providing detailed info about version control, IRC channels, documentation, and licensing info that has been carefully checked by FSF staff and trained volunteers.

If you are eager to help and you can't wait or are simply unable to make it onto IRC or in person this Saturday, our participation guide will provide you with all the information you need to get started on helping the Directory today!

To those of us who usually attend our usual Friday IRC meetings, please note that we are going to be focusing our energies on making the Saturday meeting as big as possible, so most of us won't be around on Friday to answer any questions you have.
