Deadline for Fall internship applications is Monday!
by John Sullivan
If you are interested in being an intern at the Free Software Foundation for the Fall, from August 31st to December 4th, it's time to send your application!
We've extended the deadline by a few days, but please make sure we receive your application by this Monday, July 20th. Here are the instructions.
We are looking for interns to help in all areas of the FSF's work, including campaigns and community organizing, systems administration and programming, and assisting the GPL Compliance Lab (a great opportunity for law students).
To give you some idea of the kinds of things you can do as an intern at the FSF, here's a quick run-down of current intern projects.
Sarah McIntire, one of our current campaigns interns, has been blogging on DefectiveByDesign.org, publishing the monthly Free Software Supporter e-mail newsletter, and working on community outreach via LibrePlanet.org -- focusing on reaching less technical audiences. Max Shinn has also been working with our campaigns team, to build the "GNU Generation" -- a program focused on reaching out to young people. Niko Kern, working with our systems administration team, has been helping investigate issues relating to free software support for video hardware, migrate services to virtual machines, and maintain FSF systems.
Please send in your application today, or prod students you know who might be interested in this opportunity for the Fall. Questions can be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
