Libre Planet and our Annual Meeting

We hold a conference each year in the Boston area -- admission is free for FSF members. There is such a thing as a free lunch! (You're still on your own for travel.)

Over the years our annual membership meeting has grown into a multi-day conference. Attendance is still free (as in beer) for FSF members. Libre Planet 2010 will be held in Cambridge, Massachusetts in late March.

The annual meeting section includes presentations by the FSF staff and board of directors, in addition to discussion and conversation with the members. In 2009, we added an extra day which we ran Open Spaces-style. You can see here that we were able to cover a lot of ground that way.

Libre Planet 2010 will see a greater focus on activism, increasing women's participation in free software and more concurrent space for code sprints, hack-a-thons and BoFs.

Got some ideas for this year's event? Put them on the wiki.

Take a look at the schedules of the past events to get an idea of what the meetings have been like and where they're going.
