Niko Kern
Niko Kern is the systems administration intern for Summer 2009. He loves building servers and desktops for fun, and is an outspoken advocate of free software, having helped dozens of people successfully move away from non-free operating systems.
He is currently interested in a few key software projects which offer valuable contributions to the free software ecosystem, including coreboot, Linux-libre, the Radeon driver, Android, Xen, and VirtualBox. He hopes to help in the progress of liberating Android from non-free userland applications, as well as do a thorough analysis of the non-free portions of the Radeon driver. Lastly, he is helping out doing systems administration jobs around the office such as configuring a new wireless access point using the 100% free ath9k wireless driver, building and installing desktop machines for use by other FSF employees, and working on the LibrePlanet wiki.
